The former Secretary of the Ministerial Councils at the Presidency of the Republic Betjol Hiol Charité De Bessombe is the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kribi Ports Authority. The appointment of this senior executive to this position marks an important turning point for the institution which, since the start of its operations in 2018, was under the chairmanship of Jean-Paul Simo Ndjonou.
This change in leadership comes at a time when the Kribi Autonomous Port is expanding, seeking to strengthen its capacities and increase its competitiveness on the international scene.
Betjol Hiol Charité de Bessombe is far from being a novice in the field of public administration. With 15 years of experience leading cabinet meetings in the Prime Minister ‘s office , he has demonstrated exemplary management and coordination skills. During this period, he played a central role in the development of strategic projects, particularly with regard to the Kribi industrial-port complex (CIPK). This early involvement in major projects demonstrates his ability to navigate complex and dynamic environments.
In 2012, Betjol Hiol Charité de Bessombe decided to perfect his knowledge in public management by pursuing studies in Canada. He enrolled at the École Nationale d’Administration Publique (ENAP) of the University of Quebec, where he obtained a certificate in results-based management. This diploma, recognized for its academic rigor, allowed Betjol Hiol Charité de Bessombe to acquire advanced skills in strategic planning, performance evaluation and resource management.
His academic background, combined with substantial professional experience, equips him with solid expertise to assume his new responsibilities as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Autonomous Port of Kribi. The challenges inherent in this position require a strategic vision as well as an ability to implement complex projects, qualities that he has demonstrated throughout his career.
