Kribi Port Authorities invest 80 million FCFA for Teleworking

The port infrastructure has also increased its bandwidth to facilitate the digitization of its services.

In order to ensure the continuity of its services in this period of health crisis, the Krribi Autonomous Port (PAK) has opened up to digitalization. Thanks to its software called Integrated Management Software (ERP), the port infrastructure ensures the digitization of operations. Staff meetings, port conference, accounting operations, human resources management… everything goes. “The Integrated Management Software (ERP) is a pillar of our information system … the captain can hold a port conference without necessarily having all the staff in the same room” confides Jean Marcel Belinga Belinga, director of information systems and documentation at PAK.

To facilitate telework, the port infrastructure has acquired, for its staff, laptops worth 80 million CFA francs. That said, the port has also increased its bandwidth from 8 to 18 mega. In terms of internet plans, there has also been a considerable increase in costs. “The port has subscriptions which cost close to 38,000 CFA francs per person each month. ”  the Director of Information systems and Documentation.

As a reminder, on April 3, the PAK announced the discovery of a Covid-19 case in its facilities. Informed, the Director General had triggered a precautionary measure by quarantining about thirty of his staff. The Port Authority  has also introduced several protective measures for other workers, namely the provision of personal protective equipment such as coveralls, gloves, masks, thermo-flash, and many others.
