The Council of Ministers of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), as a prelude to the 18th ordinary session of the Conference of Heads of State and Government held on November 23, by videoconference, was extended to include Ministers of Economy and Finance of member countries.
The Gabonese Minister of the Economy and Recovery, Jean-Marie Ogandaga, took part in this ordinary session which made it possible to invite the Member States to pay all their arrears of contributions in order to allow the community achieve their goals.

Within the framework of the 18th ordinary session of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Integration and External Relations , extended to the Ministers of Economy and Finance, was held on 23 November by videoconference. This meeting having worked on ten points of the draft agenda and in which the Gabonese Minister of the Economy and Recovery, Jean-Marie Ogandaga, took part, validated several files, including the invitation made to the States to pay all their arrears of contributions.
At the end of the discussions chaired by the Gabonese Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Council of Ministers adopted the activity report presented by the ECCAS Commission, while supporting the proposal to carry out an audit of the organization’s accounts.
It was also recommended to the Commission to regularize the budgetary situation for the financial year 2020 by submitting a draft budget whose financing of the Member States will be exclusively based on the payment of arrears of 40%, and to reflect on the key distribution of Member States’ contributions to the community budget, in view of the current economic and social context of the States.
The Council urged Member States to pay off all of their arrears to enable the community to meet its goals. Likewise, it adopted the activity report presented by the Commission and supported the proposal, through the elements of the handover, in particular on the effectiveness of the staff of the General Secretariat, the state of the assets, the financial situation, claims and debts.
