The Ministry of Budget, Public Accounts and Public Portfolio organized, on October 15, at the International Conference Center of Kintélé, the first day of the budget controller. It aims to improve their skills in order to better control and guide public spending.
More than two hundred financial controllers working in various public administrations took part in this seminar chaired by the supervising minister, Ludovic Ngatsé. It was held on the theme: “Efficient budgetary controller: challenges and perspectives”.

Some well-targeted themes were developed by experts to properly educate the participants. They focused, among other things, on the “Role of the budget controller in program budget mode, and the ethics and professional conduct of the budget controller”.
The aim of this day was to improve the professional skills of budgetary controllers and to popularize the missions of budgetary control, in accordance with decree no. 2023-1561 of September 15, 2023, relating to the organization and attributions of the general directorate of budgetary control.
It was also a matter of reminding them of the legislative and regulatory texts relating to ethics and professional conduct in public administration, of optimizing the operational field as well as the area of action of the budget controller.
Opening the proceedings, the Minister of Budget, Public Accounts and Public Portfolio, Ludovic Ngatsé, invited the participants to fully commit themselves in order to contribute to the good management of public funds.
” This seminar aims to strengthen your operational capacities in order to enable you to properly fulfill your obligations as budget controllers. It will consist of popularizing the missions of the budget controller and reminding you of the legislative and regulatory texts. The achievement of these objectives will depend on your mobilization and your involvement in promoting efficient budgetary control, capable of meeting the needs of citizens ,” he stressed.
