In an official statement, the Embassy of Chad in Switzerland, which is also the permanent mission to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, informed on February 4 of the reappointment of Chad as President. from the Group of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
According to the statement, “Chad was unanimously reappointed by the member states of the group of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) to the World Trade Organization (WTO), as Chairman of the LDC Group of WTO ”.
Chad has held this position since April 2019 as Coordinator. As such, the country represents and supports the Least Developed Countries in their interactions and negotiations with trade partners, “in all configurations: multilateral, plurilateral or bilateral” can be read in the document.
He also specified that the objective is to obtain concrete results in favour of the least developed countries, and their better integration into the multilateral trading system.
