Cameroon Government creates commission for maturity of projects

Its objective is to avoid inadequate financial and technical evaluations which often seal the conduct of many projects. It held its first session on October 28, 2020 to assess all aspects and constraints related to the execution of public projects.

It was chaired by the Minister of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development (MINEPAT), Alamine Ousmane Mey. The interministerial project maturation committee is the new reform implemented by the State to assess the feasibility of projects.

It is made up of multisectoral experts responsible for evaluating the relevance and implementation of projects. Its advent comes at the right time when we see in the field of sites abandoned or poorly executed because of multiple evaluations that increase costs and extend the deadlines for work.

For the government, the project maturation committee aims to avoid inappropriate financial and technical evaluations, which often seal the conduct of many projects in the country. Thus, we learned, all public projects will henceforth be evaluated by this committee before their inclusion in the state budget.
