The 5th edition of the African Construction and Related Trades Exhibition (AFRIBAT 2025) opened in Douala against a backdrop of booming construction industries and the challenges of sustainable urbanization. On April 1 , 2025, Douala hosted the opening of AFRIBAT 2025, a must-attend event for professionals in the construction and related trades. Organized under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce, this event brought together senior institutional officials and industry experts to discuss the challenges and prospects of real estate development in Africa.

Chaired by Christophe EKEN, President of the Chamber of Commerce, the opening ceremony was attended by leading figures, including the Secretary General of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (MINHDU), the Representative of the Governor of the Littoral Region, as well as Dr. Ahmadou Sardaouna, Managing Director of the Société Immobilière du Cameroun (SIC), accompanied by his Deputy Managing Director.
