President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema received a delegation from the World Economic Forum on November 12, 2025, who presented him with an official invitation to participate in the 2026 edition in Davos. This is an opportunity for Gabon to strengthen its international visibility and economic partnerships.
Led by the Minister of Digital Economy, Digitalization, and Innovation, Mark-Alexandre Doumba, a delegation from the World Economic Forum (WEF) was received on November 12, 2025, by President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema. This meeting was marked by the presentation of an official invitation to the Head of State to participate in the next WEF, scheduled for January 19-23, 2026, in Davos, Switzerland. This strategic event reflects Gabon’s desire to enhance its visibility and attract new economic partnerships.

For decades, the World Economic Forum in Davos has been an essential forum for dialogue between policymakers, business leaders, experts, and civil society actors on global challenges related to sustainable growth, climate transition, and technological innovation. By accepting this invitation, President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema sees an opportunity for international influence provided by Gabon to present its economic vision focused on diversification and structural transformation of the country.
The President’s participation in this major event should allow Gabon to strengthen its relations with international financial institutions and investors, as well as promote the economic reforms underway in priority sectors such as mining, energy, agriculture, and digital technology. This presence in Davos would also be an opportunity to highlight the country’s progress in economic governance and ecological transition.
Furthermore, the 2026 World Economic Forum will offer Gabon an opportunity for strategic dialogue with some fifty world leaders, in a context where the country seeks to attract more foreign direct investment and diversify its economic partnerships. President Oligui Nguema’s participation could thus mark a turning point in Gabonese economic diplomacy, firmly establishing the country within the dynamic of global transformation of emerging economies.
