Africa Global Logistics unveils new fleet to boost Port Activities

Following an investment of five billion CFA francs in 2024, Africa Global Logistics (AGL) Cameroon is continuing to modernize its fleet with the acquisition of new reachstackers. This latest-generation equipment aims to optimize port operations and improve the country’s supply chain.

The year 2025 begins with a focus on logistics reinforcement for Africa Global Logistics (AGL) Cameroon. The company officially integrated three new reachstackers into its fleet on March 6. These machines, designed for handling operations, include two 16-ton container handlers and a larger 32-ton model.

During the handover ceremony, Thibault LAME, Managing Director of AGL Cameroon, highlighted the strategic impact of this investment. “This addition to our fleet demonstrates our commitment to providing innovative logistics solutions tailored to our customers’ needs. We are continually investing to modernize our fleet and ensure operational excellence,” he said.

An ambitious investment plan

This acquisition is part of a broader investment dynamic undertaken by AGL Cameroun in 2024. Over the year, the company invested approximately five billion FCFA to acquire around thirty pieces of equipment for lifting, transport, and handling operations. This equipment includes 35 m³ tanker trucks, five Sinotruck trucks, a self-loading forklift, and a 45-ton Calmar reachstacker.

These new machines are used both in the city of Douala and outside, particularly on the Douala-Edéa axis, where they serve to optimize logistics flows for the company Allucam, a major player in the aluminum industry in Cameroon.

A strong commitment to the competitiveness of the port of Douala

The expansion of AGL’s equipment fleet is part of a drive to improve the competitiveness of the Port of Douala-Bonabéri, the country’s main maritime hub. With this cutting-edge equipment, the company hopes to streamline port handling operations and reduce cargo processing times. “We must constantly adapt to market developments and our customers’ expectations. This investment reflects our ambition to remain a key player in Cameroon’s economic development,” added Thibault Lame.

With these new acquisitions, AGL Cameroon reaffirms its position as a leader in the logistics and port sector in the sub-region. This momentum is expected to continue in the coming months, with new expansion and infrastructure modernization projects
