Brandon Wanguep, the dynamic Cameroonian entrepreneur, has recently been in the spotlight after being named in the prestigious Forbes Africa ranking at the “Apartés Forbes Afrique” event in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

His creation, the mobile app FindMe, offers an innovative solution to the enduring challenge of postal addressing in Africa. Since its launch in 2021, FindMe has enabled individuals to generate a postal address for their home or business in just two minutes. This ingenuity addresses a critical gap in African metropolises, thereby facilitating the distribution of mail and packages and boosting the economy by better integration into global trade networks.

Based in Senegal, Wanguep sees FindMe as a collective effort that benefits from the intelligence and devotion of many collaborators. Together, they aim to generalize postal addressing even to the most remote areas of the continent, in order to overcome accessibility obstacles and establish an effective postal addressing system.

A 2019 graduate from the École des Mines de Paris in materials science and engineering, Wanguep combines his technical expertise with a fervent entrepreneurial passion. FindMe’s revenue comes from the sale of nameplates, priced at 10,000 Fcfa each (about 15 euros), which subsidizes the free creation of postal addresses and makes the service accessible to a broad audience.

The impact of FindMe is increasingly evident in the African postal sector. According to Forbes Africa, leading postal institutions in several countries, including Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Mali, Togo, Cameroon, Guinea, Congo-Brazzaville, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, have expressed interest in this transformative application. This recognition underscores the vital importance of an accurate addressing system for the socio-economic development of Africa.

With unwavering commitment, Brandon Wanguep and his team are working to extend the influence of FindMe, establishing strategic partnerships with postal stakeholders, raising public awareness of the importance of precise addressing, and continually improving their technological offering. Their vision is ambitious: to transform African logistical infrastructure and facilitate trade through a robust, accessible postal addressing system.
