The management of BVMAC told us they intend “to have a document written according to professional standards allowing to formalize the vision, the trajectory and the development itinerary of this market undertaking (BVMAC) in an highly competitive environment.”
Consultants interested in the tender process must present documentation, references of similar services, experience in comparable assignments and availability of qualified personnel to prove their capacity of being qualified to provide the said service.
A 10-year experience in the elaboration of business and development plans and a good knowledge of the stock exchanges and financial markets’ structure is an added advantage. March 26, 2020 is the deadline for tenders.
BEAC is seeking a firm at a time when the unified stock exchange for the sub- region is still fraught with challenges. Activities on the primary and secondary markets are still timid with just four companies and 11 bonds registered as of December 2019. Other drawbacks include, cumbersome operating process, lack of knowledge on the operations of the financial market, as well as legal and regulatory barriers to market development. These and many other issues are expected to be tackled by the BVMAC business plan which runs from 2020-2025.
