Gabon and Cote d’Ivoire brace up for Joint Economic Forum this November

Organized jointly by the Gabonese National Investment Promotion Agency (ANPI-Gabon), the Embassy of Côte d’Ivoire in Gabon, and the Investment Promotion Center of Côte d’Ivoire (CEPICI), the Côte d’Ivoire-Gabon Business Forum (FACIGA) will be held on November 18 and 19 in Libreville. This forum, which aims to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries, is centered on the theme “Gabon-Côte d’Ivoire: A Model of South-South Economic Cooperation.” It embodies the two states’ commitment to promoting investment opportunities and fostering bilateral trade.

In Libreville, on November 18 and 19, the Côte d’Ivoire-Gabon Business Forum (FACIGA) will bring together more than 300 participants, including investors, economic operators, policymakers, and institutional partners. An initiative of the Gabonese National Investment Promotion Agency (ANPI-Gabon), the Embassy of Côte d’Ivoire in Gabon, and the Investment Promotion Center of Côte d’Ivoire (CEPICI), this platform will provide an environment conducive to dialogue, consultation, and the building of lasting partnerships.

The organizers intend to make this event a networking platform to boost business relations and create synergies between public and private stakeholders in both countries. Thus, the forum’s main objectives are to promote Gabon to Ivorian and international investors and to raise awareness of Côte d’Ivoire among Gabonese and foreign investors.

The forum will also highlight the pro-business reforms undertaken by both countries and present priority investment sectors, including agribusiness, mining, infrastructure, financial services, insurance, and energy. A B2B area will also be available to facilitate the establishment of business partnerships.

The Faciga program includes several key events, notably a ministerial panel on ” Côte d’Ivoire-Gabon: A Model of South-South Economic Cooperation .” This will be complemented by a keynote address on investment opportunities. Roundtables will address topics such as food security and cash crop farming, infrastructure, energy and mining, as well as the digitalization of administrative services and electronic payments. These discussions will deepen cooperation for the development of both countries.

The expected impact of this forum is the strengthening of bilateral economic relations between Gabon and Côte d’Ivoire, the promotion of business opportunities, and the signing of memoranda of understanding and strategic partnerships. It should also provide greater visibility to the reforms undertaken and the structuring projects underway, while creating a sustainable framework for South-South cooperation, beneficial to the economies of both countries.
