The information contained in the 2023 activity report of the Central African Stock Exchange highlights the essential role played by the Cameroonian Regional Bank.
According to the Bvmac activity report, 248 successful movements were recorded in the equity compartment in 2023, compared to only 187 in 2022. As a result, the total value of transactions carried out during the year jumped by 168% year-on-year, from 1.5 billion FCFA in 2022 to 4 billion FCFA in 2023. These remarkable performances also highlighted the major role of the Regional Bank in this financial market.

Reading the report, ” In terms of the number of transactions, La Régionale Bank concentrates 79 transactions (+11% compared to 71 in 2022, Editor’s note) out of a total of 243, representing 33% over the year under review, and for the second consecutive year, is the most traded title. The second and third places are occupied by Socapalm (78 transactions) and Safacam (44 transactions).”
More specifically, at the end of 2023, 1,306 shares of the Cameroonian bank La Régionale Bank were traded, which represents an increase of 56% over one year, or a total value of 55.5 million FCFA, 54% year-on-year. Indeed, on December 28, 2023, reveals the Bvmac report, the share of La Régionale Bank posted a price of 42,500 FCFA, compared to 42,000 FCFA during its first listing in July 2021. This price at the end of December 2023, which remained stable during many previous listing sessions, however lost 2.3% of its value, compared to January 2023.
For many observers, there is indeed a certain interest in La Régionale Bank shares. This interest can be analyzed in various ways. Indeed, it may be that investors who bought this share from the beginning are disappointed with its behavior on the market and decide to get rid of it, because it has not taken the desired value over the course of the quotations. It may also be that investors rush to this share because of the novelty which always arouses curiosity, because La Régionale Bank is a new bank.
