More than 9 million euros, or 6 billion FCFA. This is the amount of the overall envelope for the modernization work of the N’Gueli Dry Port in the city of Ndjamena. The official launch ceremony of the first phase took place on July 11, 2024. It was in the presence of the PCA of Africa Global Logistics Chad , Hamadou Sali and the Société de gestion du Tchad (SMT), Taha Ibrahim Taha, the Regional Director AGL Gulf of Guinea, Serge Agnero and the CEO of SMT, Mouktar Mahamat.
The works of this first phase, the cost of which amounts to 3 million euros, or more than 2 billion FCFA, will consist of the construction of a complex comprising: the three-level customs services building , the freight forwarders building, the two-level building that will house the bank branches, a mosque, a restaurant and two blocks of toilets for the public. The second phase of the works will concern the paving of the platform and the development of roads and various networks.

This strategic modernization meets the growing demand for logistics from customs services and its partners, namely SMT, Freight Forwarders and Agencies of several banks. Planned over a period of 12 months, the work on the modernization of the dry port of Ngueli in Ndjamena is being carried out by AFCORP, a Chadian construction company.
“The SMT thus allows Chad to have a modern infrastructure capable of supporting our country’s development strategy. This project demonstrates the company’s ability to implement innovative solutions to bring Chadian industry to the best international standard. It also represents a pledge of confidence for the future of all our local employees,” said Moukhtar Mahamat.
Made up of a group of Chadian shareholders (Tchad Service, Hali Service), Africa Global Logistics (AGL), Movis, and Genesis, the Société de Manutention du Tchad (SMT) which was created in 2006 has the mission of providing quality truck handling and weighing services. Concessionaire of the dry port of Ngueli since 2010, the SMT has a fleet of bonded vehicles and a 1500 m2 warehouse to ensure the management of bulk goods.
