CAMWATER and CAMPOST partner to ease payment of Bills

A partnership agreement aimed at modernizing water bill payments was signed on November 14, 2025, in Yaoundé, between the Cameroon Water Utilities Corporation (Camwater) and the Cameroon Postal Services (Campost). This innovative project, integrating digital solutions, promises to simplify and secure the payment process for subscribers.

The landscape of utility payments in Cameroon is about to undergo a major transformation. On November 14, 2025, in Yaoundé, the Cameroon Water Utilities Corporation (Camwater) and the Cameroon Postal Services (Campost) signed a partnership agreement marking the beginning of a new era in water bill payment procedures. This initiative was formalized by the signing of the agreement by Blaise Moussa, Director General of Camwater, and Pierre Kaldadak, Director General of Campost, and represents a significant step towards the digitalization of public services.

At the heart of this collaboration is the Campost Money (Camo) electronic wallet, which is presented as the flagship solution enabling subscribers to pay their water bills quickly, securely, and without needing to physically go to the office. This change in payment methods aims to modernize practices still rooted in tradition, while reducing the long queues often seen at physical branches. The precise details of this payment system will be shared with subscribers in the coming days, ensuring a smooth and seamless transition to this new method.

“This partnership illustrates our commitment to leveraging digital tools to optimize the experience of our subscribers,” said Blaise Moussa at the signing ceremony. His enthusiasm reflects Camwater’s desire to be at the forefront of modernizing public services, thus responding to the growing demand for more accessible and efficient solutions.

Pierre Kaldadak also expressed his satisfaction with this initiative, emphasizing that it represents a crucial step in the diversification of Campost’s activities. “This collaboration allows us to bring digital financial services closer to the people, including in the most isolated areas,” he explained. This partnership is not limited to Camwater and Campost; it is also part of a broader national vision for the digitalization of public services.

Camwater, with its 650,000 subscribers in 2023, is thus positioning itself as a key player in this digital transition. By facilitating contactless payments, the company aims to make the payment process more efficient and improve customer satisfaction. This digital shift not only meets the expectations of modern users but also aligns with the objectives of the Cameroonian government, which advocates for a more connected society.

This progress is all the more crucial given the challenges of electrification and access to basic services in a country where many regions remain underdeveloped. By integrating digital solutions, Camwater and Campost are paving the way for more efficient water resource management and greater respect for consumer rights.

Digital transformation in the public sector also means transparency and accountability. By digitizing bill payments, Camwater aims to reduce the risk of fraud and improve transaction traceability, two issues that have long posed challenges for public enterprises in Cameroon.

Finally, this initiative marks a significant step towards a broader modernization of service infrastructure in Cameroon. Through this partnership, Camwater and Campost are not simply adopting innovations, but are shaping a future where easier access to basic services could transform the daily lives of Cameroonians and, by extension, the country’s economic development. In the coming months, this collaboration could inspire others and permanently transform the landscape of public services in Cameroon.
