Cameroonian raises 1.3 billion FCFA to develop his start-up Healthlane

The funds will be used to develop new features to expand the user base. Cameroonian Alain Nteff Kezaf, designer of GiftedMom, an application for monitoring pregnant women and mothers, has just raised funding in the amount of 2.4 million dollars (1.3 billion FCFA) for his start-up Healthlane.

“The funding will allow Healthlane to develop new functionalities for its application, to introduce other medical services available offline, but also telemedicine and drug ordering, in order to broaden its user base.”

The particularity of the application is that it combines remote medical services and those in the field. This combination brings together a wide variety of customers including individuals, doctors, pharmacists and others in the field. Founded at the start of the year, the Healthlane solution already has more than 60,000 customers in Cameroon and Nigeria. In the future, the start-up plans to offer insurance products in addition to the medical offer.

Among the investors supporting the start-up are “Sequoia Capital, Digital Horizon, Silicon Valley Bank, Capitoria and Chinese technology company Ping An Good Doctor”.
