Cameroon Custom chief lauds Bollore for contributing to CAMCIS

As part of the fight against the spread of Coronavirus in Cameroon, the Regional Director of  Bolloré Transport & logistic for the Gulf of Guinea, Mohamed Diop, went to deliver protection material against the virus to the Director General of Customs, Fongod Edwin Nuvaga. During the ceremony, which was held on June 8, 2020 in Yaoundé, the DG of Customs wished to salute the contribution of the Bolloré Group in the implementation of the Cameroon Customs Information System (CAMCIS) project.

“With CAMCIS, we decided to revisit the system. At the time, when we launched this project we saw that there were some concerns regarding the transit of goods to the hinterland. We have created a centre to find solutions, I am happy to note that to date, many solutions have been found. We have not yet evacuated everything, a final meeting to settle the final details is scheduled for next week, ” Fongod Edwin Nuvaga said.

“Ultimately I am very satisfied, and I would like to thank the Bolloré Group here because when it was a question of finding a partner, a structure to support us, in order to test the system, they agreed to the test, it is thanks to them that we were able to validate operations, ”the DG of Customs concluded.

The Cameroon Customs Information System Project was officially launched last Monday in Yaoundé. According to authorities, it has come to “revolutionize the management of customs operations” and one of the advantages of this system is that it “reduces contact between customs officers and users, but also bad professional practices”
