Managers or heads of Small and Medium Enterprises or Industries operating in the oil and gas sector in Cameroon can now more easily certify their products. The seminar organized by the Cameroon Subcontracting and Partnership Exchange (BSTP) in partnership with ANOR (Cameroon Standards and Quality Agency), on June 24, 2020, allowed them to know how to get there.
“Many opportunities formerly reserved for multinationals are available to local SMEs in the oil and gas sector. These are even more accessible to them today thanks to the ANOR which defined standards of immediate application there ”, said the Director General of the BSTPC, Evariste Yameni, at the opening of the seminar on standards made immediately applicable in the oil and gas sector.

Concretely, the aim was to prepare the companies to subcontract to the National Hydrocarbon Company (SNH) and other structures working in the oil and gas sector. The BSTP and its partner ANOR want to help equip those who are there or who aspire to be there to better understand the sector and its requirements, to be ready to take advantage of all the opportunities available to them. The training received makes it possible to avoid the lack of general and strategic information which generally constitutes a handicap for the deployment of companies.
Above all, it helps to strengthen the knowledge of SMEs / SMIs in the oil and gas sector and promote their integration into the value chain of large companies operating in this sector and mainly of the National Hydrocarbons Company
François Noël Zibi, Director of Standards at ANOR, says what types of products are affected. “We have standards for petroleum products, SUPER gasoline, Diesel, kerosene and even LPG content. These standards make it possible to guarantee that the product that we put on the market is of quality and that there will be no difficulty in their use, “underlines the senior official.
He explains that when requests for certification are received, ANOR transmits them to laboratories which provide them with the results of their analyzes. It is on this basis that the Director General of ANOR issues certificates of conformity.
