The South African telecoms operator intends to contribute to education in Cameroon, after the closure of schools, caused by the pandemic. Government suspended learning establishments across the country with many children now looking for alternative learning measures.
To allow pupils, students and teachers access the educational resources they need, MTN Cameroon has given free access to websites and other digital platforms dedicated to education, from its network. The announcement was made recently by its Foundation.
Learners have access to 30 local and international digital platforms without consuming their communication credits or internet packages. The list of platforms concerned, which will evolve according to the requests of learners and establishments, is available on the MTN Cameroon website at mtn.cm/fr/school-goes-on.
The South African telecoms operator’s initiative, is part of the national response to the spread of Covid-19. To limit its dissemination, the state has suspended since March 17, 2020, classes in schools, secondary and universities throughout the territory. Many E-Learning initiatives are now used by many training establishments and structures. The national television, CRTV, is also provide live lessons.
