Cameroon seals 68 billion FCFA C2D deal for development and social services

The  third French Debt Relief and Development Program C2D has been set in motion following its signing in Yaounde Wednesday between the Minister of Economy Planning and Regional Development, Alamine Ousmane Mey and the French Ambassador in Cameroon Christophe Guillou.

Sixty eight billion FCFA is the amount delivered by Paris through the scheme for the development of three sectors; Basic Education, Maternal health and Social protection from 2020-2022.

To the delighted Minister of Economy, “the financial aid will ensure that our country in its march towards its emergence can support regions which are experiencing specific sectoral difficulties. “

1350 classes will be constructed to facilitate education for vulnerable children. In the health domain, 360.000 health checks will be carried out on pregnant women. While 40.000 households in the Adamawa, North and Far North regions will benefit from various social services. The sealing of the third phase of the C2D was an opportunity for Cameroonian and French officials to raise awareness on the prevalence of the coronavirus through a special symbolic handshake.
